Occult by artbyabbey Occult by artbyabbey
Thought I'd get all occult, and just do a huge pagan artwork. Most are going to think it's 'satanic', but heck, that's the point.

Process:
This began as a 2nd hand huge black canvas, well by blank i mean someone had painted it light green. Then I used markers and wrote song lyrics, I can't even remember what song it was from, I think something by Immortal technique. Then I sprayed it with Nifti which is like cleaning product it made the text run. Then I just sort of graffitied the crap out of it to make it look like a wall.. Then I used red markers and grabbed my book, Techniques of High Magic, went to the Self Initiation Chapter, and found this excerpt written by Aleister Crowley, and wrote some of it on the canvas, these parts:
'On each occasion that thou rt betrayed into doing that thou art sworn to avoid, cut thyself sharply upon the wrist or forearm with a razor; even as though shouldst beat a disobedient dog... 'Thine arm then serveth thee both for a warning and for a record.. '
It sounds barbaric, and it's not 'emo', it is a way to make sure you don't stray from your path.. Which is I guess Magic.
Then down the far right I wrote the end of the excerpt, 'Thus bind thyself and thou shalt be for ever free.'

After that I sprayed the 2 layered skull stencil, draw a slightly dodgy pentagram with markers. Then I cut a stencil of symbols based on Geometric Divination. They represent signs and planets.
After that I just went over the whole thing black and silver paint, re-painted the stencil.
Then fiddled with it on Photoshop for the exteme lighting/contrast.

This doesn't reflect anything about me! I basically just find the occult very interesting, I do not understand enough about it to say I follow it.. But I do find the imagery very interesting, intriguing and beautiful. As someone who does not follow pagan/magic.. I find the imagery curious, it makes me want to know more.

The narrow minded, will see this and think "SATAN!" I do know some people who will.. Which is why I did it.
